About

I was exactly the kind of person
the world rewards.

Two decades in IT security. Endurance athlete. High performer by every external measure. And, for a long time, completely blind to what was building underneath — until nervous system collapse recovery became the most important work of my life.

Then came the nervous system collapse.

In 2021, I experienced a complete nervous system collapse. It didn’t arrive with warning. One day I was functioning, pushing through a low hum of something not quite right beneath the surface. Then everything stopped.

What followed was two years of being largely housebound, flooded with unresolved trauma, with stored stress, with the accumulated weight of everything I had never let myself feel. I lost my ability to work. I lost the identity that had defined me for decades. I lost the certainty I had always used to navigate.

I sought medical help. I tried programs. Good ones. There is no shortage of approaches, and many of them offer real value. But none of them reached me. The framing was always wrong. The chronic illness model didn’t fit. CFS, fibromyalgia, none of the labels matched what I was actually experiencing. The somatic approaches felt too vague. I couldn’t see myself in any of them.

I needed to understand exactly what was happening and why. Not in broad strokes, but with the kind of precision that satisfies a mind trained on complex systems.

That gap — between what was available and the level of understanding I needed — is what this book exists to fill.

What followed became my greatest teacher.

Over several years, I tracked the process with the same analytical obsessiveness I had applied to everything else in my life. I mapped the phases. I noticed every shift. I stayed curious even when the pain was unbearable. Slowly, through that process of precise, relentless understanding, something resolved.

What I found at the root was not what I expected. Beneath the performance, the training, the career, was early attachment trauma I had never named. That was the ground the whole system was built on. Research on the nervous system and trauma increasingly confirms what I experienced firsthand: that unresolved threat responses can become structural, shaping every system in the body. Understanding that changed everything.

I am not a therapist. I am not a clinician. What I am is someone who documented a nervous system collapse recovery from the inside — understood the process at a depth most people never apply to it, and built a map I could not find anywhere else.

Martin Segeth — nervous system collapse recovery

This is what I built from that understanding.

This book, and the program it leads toward, is the map I needed when I was lost. It is written for people who are analytically minded, who have tried things that helped partially but never completely, who need to understand something precisely before they can begin to trust it.

The process of nervous system collapse recovery is not mysterious — but it does require a framework that matches the depth of what actually happened. That is what this is. Built from the inside based on embodied experience.

If that is you, you are in the right place.
